 Premier must stop making excuses over email audit
 Almost a year since the former Mining Minister was forced to resign
 Will Hodgman must follow through on the process he committed to

Premier Will Hodgman cannot hide behind excuses over the Adam Brooks email audit any longer.

Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said the Premier must follow through on the process he committed to almost a year ago.

“The Premier made a commitment to Tasmanians that the business email account of his former Mining Minister would be audited by the Crown Solicitor,” Mr Bacon said.

“Almost 12 months later Tasmanians are still in the dark.

“Previously the Premier has used his former Minister’s divorce proceedings as the reason the audit couldn’t proceed. It’s been confirmed that matter is resolved.

“But this has never been about the former Minister’s personal circumstances, it’s about the role he played in a significant mining company while serving as the Mining Minister.

“The situation was so serious that Mr Brooks was forced to resign from Cabinet.

“Given the Braddon MP is contesting the next election, his conduct as a Minister and Member of Parliament remains highly relevant.

“The Premier committed to the audit process, it’s his credibility on the line.”
