Isaac’s kicking goals … a wish come true

Posted on

Fifteen year old Isaac, from Howrah, is in for a wonderful surprise this Sunday, when Hobart Make-A-Wish volunteers deliver the news that his wish to go to the MCG in Melbourne to watch his favourite soccer players has come true!

Isaac, diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma 9 months ago, decided his cherished wish would be to watch Lionel Messi and Naymar jr play. Coincidently a game Argentina against Brazil was scheduled in Australia for June, with the players in opposing teams!
At a special event at the HIA HomeFEST this weekend in Hobart, Isaac will be officially told that he and his family, including his twin sister Keely, will soon be heading off to see Isaac’s wish come true.
Make-A-Wish has been the charity partner of the HIA HomeFEST for several years.

Make-A-Wish Hobart branch President, Amanda French, said the live wish announcement will allow the community to share that special moment when Isaac discovers his one wish is going to come true.
“It will be a lovely moment for everyone involved, but will be extra special for Isaac’s mum Jacki as the announcement is happening on Mothers Day. We can’t wait to see the smile on both of their faces” she said.

“We are so grateful for the ongoing support of organisations such as HIA and also that of many of the regular stall holders at HomeFEST. It is a great community event and our volunteers love getting involved in it”.

Make-A-Wish will be running a BBQ and providing kids craft and face painting in the kids’ corner over the two days.

The big announcement will be made on Sunday at 11am in the forecourt of the Princes Wharf Shed.

As an organisation funded solely on donations, Make-A-Wish relies on the generosity of the community to make wishes come true. For more information, or make a donation to Make-A-Wish, please visit www.makeawish.org.au or phone 1800 032 260.
