Gutwein just cannot be believed on lofty jobs claim
Treasurer promised 8,000 jobs two years ago – and failed to deliver
Tasmanians right to be sceptical over Gutwein’s hollow promises
Record number of Tasmanians have given up trying to find work under Hodgman Government
Treasurer Peter Gutwein’s patronising and arrogant pledge to deliver thousands of jobs in this week’s State Budget are not to be believed by Tasmanians who have not forgotten his shocking track record.
Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said the Hodgman Government could not possibly ask Tasmanians to believe it was creating jobs now and into the future after previous promises failed to materialise and at the same time the state’s participation rate was the worst in the nation
“Two years ago Mr Gutwein said the centrepiece of his 2015-16 Budget was a jobs creation package that would see 8,000 Tasmanians join the workforce,” Mr Bacon said.
