Funding certainty for Rural Alive and Well
Labor will match the commitment to Rural Alive and Well
Valuable work in the mental health space must continue
Tasmanians in regional and rural areas deserve to feel supported
Shadow Minister for Primary Industries Shane Broad said Labor will match the Government’s commitment to Rural Alive and Well over the next three years.
“Rural Alive and Well is a crucial organisation which deserves funding certainty,” Dr Broad said.
“The Government’s announcement was very welcome and Labor is committed to matching the commitment of an additional $1.7 million over the next three years.
“Rural Alive and Well has a proven track record of providing a valuable service to Tasmania and should be commended on the work it does.
“Mental health is a critical issue right across Tasmania but special attention needs to be paid to communities in rural and regional areas.
“No Tasmanian should ever feel isolated and alone. Rural Alive and Well plays a vital role in making sure people know there is someone there to talk to.
“Labor’s pleased to match the Government’s committed to allow Rural Alive and Well to make plans with confidence and certainty.”
