Liberals called out over TasWater dishonesty

Posted on

 Time for the Government to release modelling or stop spreading lies
 Liberal claims re TasWater aren’t based in truth

The Liberal Government needs to either release proper economic modelling on its plan to take over TasWater or stop making dishonest claims.

Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said the Liberals have been caught red handed not telling the truth.

“TasWater’s chairman Miles Hampton has rightly called out the Government for misleading Tasmanians,” Mr Bacon said.

“The Government’s claim it will save households $550 is frankly a lie.

“There is no economic modelling at all the back up what the Liberals are saying.

“And the Government’s attack on TasWater over its work schedule is equally dishonest.

“Boiled water alerts will be addressed by the middle of next year so the Government’s attack is based on a lie.

“No one wants to see Tasmanian communities unable to drink the water from the tap. For the Liberals to pretend they’re the only people who care is deceitful.

“It’s time for the Government to release modelling to back up their claims.”
