A coalition of Gonski supporters will today call on Premier Will Hodgman to fight for Tasmania’s Gonski Agreement and secure its full delivery from the Federal Government.

WHEN & WHERE:

• 12.30pm today (Thursday 6 April), Parliament House Lawns, Hobart.

WHO:

• A coalition of Gonski supporters: parents, teachers, principals, stakeholders including Anglicare and TasCOSS, and the AEU (state and federal presidents).

WHAT & WHY:

• Tasmania has a six-year signed Gonski school funding agreement with the Commonwealth but Malcolm Turnbull doesn’t want to honour it and Will Hodgman needs to fight for it.
• A broad coalition of Gonski supporters will call on Will Hodgman to detail his plan to secure the $100m Gonski agreement that they all agree our schools need.
• The call comes ahead of tomorrow’s (Friday) Education Council meeting in Hobart between Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham and state and territory education ministers.
