TasWater workers must be saved

 Labor calls on TasWater to retain 94 workers facing the axe
 Strong workforce will be required to complete pipeline of projects

Labor Leader Bryan Green has called on TasWater to immediately cease its plan to shed 94 jobs.

“In order to head off the Government’s takeover attempts, TasWater should be keeping the faith by retaining its current workforce.

“94 workers are on the chopping block,” Mr Green said.

“The one thing the Government and Opposition agree on is that TasWater has a lot of work to do over the next few years.

“There’s an enormous amount of work to be done and the business needs the workers.

“If the Treasurer was serious about upgrading our water and sewerage assets, he’d call on TasWater to cease the job cuts.

“It doesn’t make sense to be sacking workers with a long list of projects in the pipeline.”
