Tasmanian Government turning up heat on TasWater to sort out water problems
For decades the water in some Tasmanian towns has been unsafe to drink and a fed-up State Government has had enough.
Treasurer Peter Gutwein will today outline how he plans to make Tasmanian councils sacrifice more of their TasWater dividends in order to fund urgent infrastructure upgrades.
Last year TasWater, which is owned by the councils, revealed a 10-year plan to upgrade infrastructure across the state.
Included in the plan was a promise to remove boil water alerts in all Tasmanian towns within two years.
