Senate President gives go ahead for vote on Tassal Senate Privileges matter
The Senate Environment Committee has determined that representatives of Tassal may have improperly influenced a wtiness to the Senate Inquiry into The Fin-Fish aquaculture industry in Tasmania.
Allegations of the improper influencing of an Inquiry witness was first made in the Four Corners episode into the Tasmanian salmon industry.
The Senate President stated that after proper consideration, the criteria for him to allow the Senate to vote on referring the matter to the Privileges Committee have been met.
Senator Whish-Wilson then moved the motion and the vote will occur tomorrow.
