Time for the Government to end the secrecy
Government Business scrutiny hearings a chance for Ministers to come clean
Crucial questions to be answered around energy, forestry
Will the Government be transparent or continue with secrecy?
The increasingly secretive Hodgman Government has a chance to come clean on some critical issues this week.
Labor Leader Bryan Green said the week of Government Business Enterprise scrutiny hearings is a major test and gives the Liberals an opportunity to answer crucial questions.
“Tasmanians deserve a greater level of transparency from this government,” Mr Green said.
“The Liberals have gained a reputation for secrecy since coming to government, hiding critical information from the public.
“Labor’s determined to shed light on some critical issues, including the cause of Tasmania’s unprecedented energy crisis.
“There are also key questions to be answered over the privatisation of state-owned assets like the state’s plantation timber reserves.
“This week is a giant test for a government that has lurched from crisis to crisis over the last year.
“Will the Liberals come clean on critical issues or will they put up the shutters?
“Labor has thoroughly prepared for the week of scrutiny hearings and will leave no stone unturned.”
