Taste the Launceston community in three iconic historic venues this Saturday night

Posted on

From 6pm the beautiful Princes Square will be abuzz with classical music, children playing and the smell of a giant barbeque. Each year City Baptist Church puts on this free community meal. And everyone is invited – no exceptions!

At 7pm a creative Carols Service will be held over the road in the magnificent City Baptist Church building. Jazz musician Steve Cooper will host a one-hour program that will feature various musicians including the Choir of High Hopes. This service is crafted to suit both the street community and families of all ages.

A huge free supper then follows in one of Launceston’s most significant buildings, Milton Hall (next door to the church). Originally the St Johns Square Chapel, Milton Hall has been a landmark in our city since 1841. It has also been the site of significant moments in local and national history.

So taste community, enter into history, celebrate Christmas – all in one evening.
