TasWater opens new office in Devonport
TasWater has moved into its new office in the heart of Devonport centralising not only the bulk of its North West administration but also consolidating important statewide services on the North West coast.
Since its formation in 2013, TasWater in the North West has been based in temporary office buildings at the Forth water treatment plant.
The new, permanent office in Steele Street is being established in the city centre as part of the Devonport City Council’s Living City master plan.
CEO Michael Brewster says the new office is an important element in TasWater becoming a truly statewide organisation.
“We are committed to developing infrastructure, business opportunities and employment across the state and I am pleased we are able to bring more than 100 staff into the centre of Devonport.”
“It will see two of our statewide operations located in the one building, the Customer Service Centre answering all customer enquiries and our Network Operations Centre which monitors our facilities across the state in real-time.”
“It will be from the Devonport office that emergency crews are despatched to water outages or sewerage related issues, around the clock,” Mr Brewster said.
The location of these teams in Devonport has brought around 30 new jobs to the North West.
TasWater has worked closely with the Devonport City Council in relocating to the city centre ensuring facilities such as parking for staff and customers visiting the new TasWater office are well catered for.
Our new office at 18 Steele Street will be open from Monday 28 November between 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
