Safe Pathways investigation

The safety of children in the care of Safe Pathways is the Government’s top priority.
It is important that the investigation into Safe Pathways is done thoroughly by Children and Youth Services and is above politics – there will be no shortcuts because the timeframe doesn’t suit Josh Willie.
As I have stated repeatedly all children are regularly visited by a Child Safety Officer and they are safe.
It was the former Labor-Green Government that outsourced Out of Home Care programs to the private sector and failed to act decisively on the over 600 recommendations from more than 15 reports into the child protection system.
If Mr Willie really cared about these children he would want the investigation into Safe Pathways to run its course. Mr Willie’s comments today show he is more interested in creating a headline.
It has taken the Hodgman Liberal Government to implement the Child Safety Services $20.5 million Strong Families-Safe Kids Implementation Plan which outlines the thirty actions we are implementing for vulnerable children.
