Mental Health Council Encourages Tasmanians to Attend Mental Health Week Events

Posted on

Mental Health Week is part of a national mental health promotion campaign that is held in October each year to engage people from the community in discussions on how to manage their own mental health.

Today marks World Mental Health day which our partners at Mental Health Australia celebrate by encouraging everyone to make their own mental health promise via www.1010.org.au

Tomorrow there are some fantastic events happening across the state. The Mental Health Council of Tasmania will have representatives attending the breakfast put on by Eureka Clubhouse each year in Moonah.

MHCT CEO, Connie Digolis said, “The Eureka Clubhouse’s breakfast is one of the longest standing traditions for Mental Health Week. It’s a chance for members of the Clubhouse to celebrate their achievements from the year and open the doors to those outside of the mental health sector to see what this fantastic service is all about.”

“Eureka Clubhouse have created a community where members come to learn new skills, socialise and engage in activities that aid in their recovery and build their capacity.”

Representatives from MHCT will also be attending the launch of a new and exciting mental health resource kit created in conjunction with Clarence City Council. ‘My Wellbeing Kit’ is a pack of 13 illustrated cards that aim to help people identify the actions they can take to stay mentally healthy or get them back on track.
