Bernard Salt looks to redefine the way we think about ageing
2016 ACSA National Summit – Hobart, 6-9 September
Leading Australian demographer and social commentator Bernard Salt will open the second day of the 2016 Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA) National Summit in Hobart this morning, speaking on the future of aging and the aged in Australia.
With over 25 years of experience analysing demographics and social change in Australia, Mr Salt will examine the way we think about ageing, focusing on the future of the baby boomer generation.
“The baby boomer generation is now straddling the transition to the retirement stage of the lifecycle,” said Mr Salt.
“They are the first generation to have their parents age into their 80s and beyond, and they are determined to age differently, better, to make the most of their healthy years.”
Over 700 people from across the Australian aged care sector will gather at the Hotel Grand Chancellor this week (6-9 September) to discuss the aged care reforms occurring nationally, the reality for services on the ground and how the industry can continue to thrive in an ever-changing environment.
