STAFF AT MARY OGILVY STOP WORK
MEMBERS ARE ANGRY THAT MANAGEMENT REFUSES TO INCLUDE MEASURES TO ADDRESS EXCESSIVE WORKLOADS AND BULLYING IN THEIR WORKPLACE AGREEMENT
STAFF AT MARY OGILVY HOMES SOCIETY IN NEW TOWN CONTINUE STOP WORK MEETINGS AND THEIR COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN
The Mary Ogilvy Homes Society, a not for profit residential aged care facility in New Town, has angered their employees by refusing to include bullying and excessive workload clauses in a new workplace agreement.
In May this year, staff at the aged care facility, voted “No” to a new workplace agreement because it did not include clauses to address excessive workloads and bullying.
Mary Ogilvy have decided to insult Members further and have put the Agreement out to ballot again without including these two very important clauses.
HACSU Lead Organiser, Tammy Munro, said, “Staff at Mary Ogilvy are outraged by the treatment of Mary Ogilvy management towards them. Members have already rejected this agreement because it does not include important measures to improve their workplace, yet management have ignored their staff and insist that staff vote on it again.”
“Measures to address excessive workloads and bullying will not cost Mary Ogilvy anything and our Members are at a loss to understand why management refuses to include these clauses in their new workplace agreement,” Tammy Munro said.
Staff at Mary Ogilvy today held another stop work meeting calling on management to reopen negotiations for their agreement and will continue their community campaign with a petition for community members to express their support.
