Senator Eric Abetz blames Canberra for Tassie losses at last month’s Federal Election
THE Coalition was warned Tasmanians were not buying into the Canberra-driven Federal Election campaign, Senator Eric Abetz says.
In an exclusive interview with the Mercury, Senator Abetz has raised significant concerns about the campaign that saw the Tasmanian Liberals’ “Three Amigos’’ voted from the House of Representatives and federal minister Richard Colbeck lose his seat.
Senator Abetz has suggested the local campaign, driven from Canberra, failed to resonate with local voters.
