A quick update from 350 Hobart.

350 Hobart is a grass roots organisation run by volunteers. The group started in early 2015. We participate in 350 Australia campaigns. See 350.org

Labor MP Lisa Singh signed 350’s Pollution Free Politics pledge (http://gofossilfree.org.au/pfp-home/) last week in support of a ban on political parties receiving donations from fossil fuel companies, and governments subsidising fossil fuel companies. We say well done to Lisa for her principled stand on this issue.

Hobart City Council Divestment petition

We delivered 350 Hobart’s petition of 1500 signatures to council on the 9th May. The petition calls on council to divest completely from banks that invest in coal, oil and gas projects (fossil fuel industry projects). We expect a response from council by August.
