Great texture Isla. Reminded me of an abstract expressionist kind of world map – “The Spread of Pollution” maybe.

    That’s a stunning photo Isla

    – once upon a time I really wasn’t a big fan of detail photos but now I love them – a little mini-landscape world it is possible to endlessly visually wander around

    thank you

Wow. Peeling paint or reflections on the surface Monet’s water lily pond?

Reminds me of the chestnut posed in The Guardian’s Notes and Queries column years ago about a hill-walker who spent a minute or so appreciating a scatter of bright wildflowers in the grass lower down the slope.

They scene was so lovely she deviated her course to come nearer to them, where she discovered they were lolly wrappers. Had the experience still been beautiful?
