Announcing the finalists for the Tasmanian Volunteering Awards 2016

To celebrate the contribution volunteers make to our community, Volunteering Tasmania has established the Tasmanian Volunteering Awards.

These awards, sponsored by MyState and supported by the State Government, aim to recognise and reward the contribution of those who exhibit excellence in the volunteering sector.

Tasmanian Volunteering Awards Finalists (in alphabetical order) are:

• Judi Adams (National Breast Cancer Foundation)

Tasplan Super Education, Science & Technology Award

• Lydia Cooke (SIDS & Kids Tasmania)
• Wendy Harley (Beaconsfield Online Access Centre)

AON Environment & Conservation Award

• Marina Campbell (Friends of Maatsuyker Island Wildcare & Southern Beaches Landacre Coastcare)
• Nel Smit (Australian Association for Environmental Education and Taroona Neighbourhood Garden)
• Dr Eric Woehler (BirdLife Tasmania)

Winners will be announced and prizes presented on Monday 9 May at the beginning of National Volunteer Week, May 2016; in a ceremony at Government House, hosted by Volunteering Tasmania Patron, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner, Governor of Tasmania. The Premier Will Hodgman will also be an esteemed guest.
