Huon Valley Council Report received

Posted on

Today I received the report prepared by the Huon Valley Board of Inquiry investigating complaints against Huon Valley Council members and staff.

I would like to thank the members of the board for the time they have taken to conduct their investigation.

The report contains the findings and recommendations of the investigation into the Council, following a series of complaints.

The Board’s terms of reference focussed on governance issues within the Huon Valley Council.

I will be reviewing the report, after which it will be forwarded in confidence to the council and the General Manager, who will have 14 days to provide their comments.

After considering the feedback from the council and the General Manager I will then determine what actions will be taken.

Once I have received feedback from the council and determined what actions will be taken I will make publicly available as much of the report as is possible to ensure that the community fully understands the circumstances and context of my decisions.
Peter Gutwein, Minister for Planning and Local Government
