Get ready to read with the Summer Reading Club!

Posted on

Young Tasmanians are encouraged to get lost in a great book over the long summer break by joining LINC Tasmania’s Summer Reading Club, which runs from 1 December 2015 until 31 January 2016.

The Hodgman Liberal Government has set the target of improving literacy rates amongst Tasmanians. Free programs such as the Summer Reading Club are a fantastic way to encourage children to read, and I urge parents to get their children involved.

This exciting program will help children to continue their learning by reading over the summer holidays.

LINCs and libraries across the state will be running the Summer Reading Club, and will be holding activities relating to the theme ‘Lost Worlds’.

The Summer Reading Club is run in libraries and online in partnership with the State Library of Queensland and the Australian Library and Information Association.

Registration for the Summer Reading Club is now open, and children go into the draw to win an iPod by registering between December and January.

For more details about the Summer Reading Club contact your local LINC or library, or visit the LINC Tasmania website at www.linc.tas.gov.au
