Business confidence sky high under the Liberals’ long-term Plan

Posted on

Business confidence is sky high and business conditions in Tasmania are the best in the country according to today’s NAB Business Survey.

According to the Survey, confidence is at +9, the second highest in the country and more than double the national average.

Tasmania has the best business conditions at +19, three points higher than second placed New South Wales and nearly twice the national average.

There is no doubt that the boom in visitor numbers, the record retail highs and the strength in the building and construction sector are all contributing to the overwhelming positivity in the business sector.

What’s most important for confidence and business conditions though is job creation. Since the election, 7,000 new jobs have been created and there are more people in work in Tasmania than ever before.

But there is still a lot more we can do. That’s why we are investing $315 million into a jobs package and $1.8 billion into infrastructure so that we can continue to support business confidence.

Today’s result is another clear sign that under the Hodgman Liberal Government’s long-term Plan, Tasmania is heading in the right direction.
