Van Diemen’s Land Company
The decision by OnCard to recommend to shareholders it buy North West Based Van Diemen’s Land Company is another vote of confidence in the Tasmanian economy.
This is tremendous news for Tasmania that will further strengthen Tasmania’s competitive advantages.
The announcement is also exciting for our State’s dairy sector and indeed our entire premium food industry.
The company’s integrated business strategy of sourcing primarily premium food products from Tasmania enhances our existing strong reputation as producers of reliable, safe and quality food.
Should the deal come to fruition it will be the first time the company has been held in Australian hands. This is something Tasmanians should be very proud of and I commend all those involved.
