Tasmanian Councils Unite in Support of Paris
Across Tasmania, councils will fly their flags at half mast tomorrow (Tuesday, 17 November) as a means of demonstrating sympathy and support to those communities affected by the evil terrorist attacks in Paris that have shocked us all.
“In our peaceful part of the world, it is difficult to comprehend such wanton violence but it is important we stand against it,” says Local Government Association of Tasmania (LGAT) President, Mayor Doug Chipman.
“Flying our flags at half mast not only shows our concern for the victims and their communities, but also our determination to be strong.”
“Our thoughts, our sympathy and our condolences are with all those impacted,” he said.
