Congratulating Tasmania’s tourism award winners

Shadow Tourism Minister Scott Bacon would like to congratulate all the winners from the 2015 Tasmanian Tourism Awards.

“The list of this year’s winners is a reminder that it really is a golden time for tourism in Tasmania,” Mr Bacon said.

“It’s great to see such a diverse range of people and businesses being honoured, from highly respected stalwarts of the industry to exciting new players.

“People like Julian and Tracey Jacobs have put their heart and soul into tourism in Tasmania and thoroughly deserve recognition.

“Congratulations too to Dianne Ward and Shannon Wells on their awards, it’s clear that Tasmanian tourism is in very safe hands.

“Looking through the list of attractions that have won awards is a reminder of the world-class experiences Tasmania offers.

“From luxury accommodation and culinary experiences to activities for the more adventurous.

“It’s also great to see some of our best festivals and events recognised.

“Labor’s very proud of the investment we made in events tourism and the likes of the MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival continue to bring thousands of people to Tasmania.

“Congratulations to all the winners on a superb contribution to tourism and hospitality in our state.”
