Condemning the terrorist attacks in Paris

Posted on

Bryan Green, on behalf of the Labor Opposition, would like to extend his deepest sympathy to the victims of the horrific terror attacks in Paris.

“These crimes are a brutal attack on freedom and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms,” Mr Green said.

“So many Tasmanians have such a strong affinity with Paris and its people and we mourn with them.

“We’ve seen such a senseless loss of life.

“Our thoughts too are with young Tasmanian Emma Parkinson who has been through a harrowing ordeal.

“We commend the Australian Ambassador in France, Stephen Brady, and the Tasmanian Government for the support provided to Emma and her family.

“I also acknowledge Emma’s aunt, Sam Gunner, for speaking on behalf of the family today. I note Sam and her family’s request for privacy and I’m sure the Tasmanian media will respect that wish.”
