Bridport Men’s Shed opening

Posted on

Congratulations to the team of volunteers at the Bridport Community Men’s Shed who shared in the second round of Men’s Sheds grants funding announced by the Hodgman Liberal Government.

The Bridport Community Men’s Shed received $4498 in funding to complete its new workshop in Maxwell Street.

It was my great pleasure today to officially open the “Bridport Shed’’ and see the culmination of so many dreams and a lot of hard work by the men and women of Bridport.

Community and Men’s Sheds provide a valuable role in the community through promoting health and well-being and the Hodgman Liberal Government is delighted that 20 “Sheds’’ state-wide will share in $77,615 in this round of funding.

This funding helps grass roots Tasmanians and helps support hard-working communities who are trying to support their mates.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is a proud supporter of Men’s Sheds with more than 45 sheds operating state-wide which play an important role in the promotion of men’s health and wellbeing and deliver real, practical benefits to the community.

Once again, congratulations to president George Andrews and his dedicated team in Bridport on their determination on seeing this project through to completion. I’m sure it will play a vital role in building and supporting the local community.
