Only Labor will deliver regular fibre

Shadow Minister for ICT and Innovation Madeleine Ogilvie today congratulated Federal Shadow Minister Jason Clare for taking a strong stand on the critical importance of a first-rate NBN.

“Nowhere is a first rate fibre-driven NBN of more importance than right here in Tasmania,” Ms Ogilvie said.

“The Australian Labor Party is the party that conceived and started building the NBN, and we did that right here in Tasmania. I congratulate Jason Clare for prioritising our NBN.

“Tasmanians need to know that it is the Labor and only Labor that will deliver a first rate fibre-driven NBN.

“As an island state it is critical to our businesses, education facilities and for our international trade that we have a state of the art telecommunications service.

“Here in Tasmania we have led on NBN from the very beginning. We must not lose our strategic advantage.

“We are the party of fibre. The Liberal Party is the party of copper. They sold it. They bought it back. And now they are replacing it with new copper. If you vote for the Labor Party at the next election you will be voting for more fibre.”
