Midland Highway safety upgrades
The Tasmanian Government makes no apology for rapidly rolling out priority safety upgrades on the Midland Highway last summer.
The Government used an entirely appropriate, existing panel process to tender and award contracts for these six projects.
We are committed to bringing this critical road corridor up to a minimum three-star AusRAP safety rating and we were not prepared to lose the opportunity of undertaking priority safety upgrades over the last summer.
These upgrades have improved safety on the Midland Highway, which is good news for all who travel on this road.
