Local hero close to the finish line of run for kids with diabetes

Posted on

Tasmanian woman Deb Ludeke is running from Launceston to Hobart over four days to raise funds and awareness for young Tasmanians who live with Type 1 diabetes.

Deb is running 66 kilometres tomorrow from Oatlands to Granton on the second-last day of her north to south run, which finishes at Wrest Point Casino tomorrow.

Deb was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1984, but the Hobart mother has not let that get in the way of her beloved running, and wants younger generations to know diabetes is not a life sentence.

All money raised will be used to help children with Type 1 diabetes manage their condition through subsiding the price of equipment, so they can live well with diabetes.
