Congratulations due on Industrial Hemp Bill
The TFGA would like to congratulate both houses of the Tasmanian parliament for last night passing the Industrial Hemp Bill. A number of members and legislative councillors have worked tirelessly to achieve this positive outcome.
“Our special thanks to the Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. Jeremy Rockliff, for his on-going and continuing support of this valuable industry,” TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said.
He said that the result was the culmination of many years of hard work between the TFGA and other industry stakeholders, such as Industrial Hemp Association of Tasmania president Phil Reader.
“Our hemp growers can now move forward with their plans for the future; confident that their industry is receiving the recognition that it deserves, and unhampered by excessive red tape.
“The TFGA looks forward to assisting government and the fledgling hemp industry to build on this momentum and create yet another profitable agricultural crop for the Tasmanian economy.”
