Cassy can’t handle the truth

Posted on

Cassy O’Connor’s constant theatrics about question allocations in the House of Assembly has been exposed as grossly hypocritical.

The Greens MP daily criticises Government Members, myself included, for daring to fulfil our Parliamentary duties in asking questions of Ministers.

When she again wasted Parliamentary time whinging about the matter today, Ms O’Connor was most perturbed when the facts were laid on the table.

The truth is that over the term of the previous Labor-Green government, in which Ms O’Connor was, for a time, a minister, Labor and Green backbenchers asked ministers a total of 1,112 questions.

Between them, Labor and Green backbenchers were allocated a minimum of six questions each and every Question Time.

In contrast, Liberal Government backbenchers are allocated a minimum of four questions each Question Time.

Ms O’Connor, of course, could not handle having these facts brought to light and had to be warned for interjecting throughout my contribution during a debate that she sought this morning.

It seems when it comes to elected Members exercising their democratic rights, Ms O’Connor is only interested if those Members are Green; and when it comes to the truth, Ms O’Connor cannot handle that at all.
