Tasmanian farmers welcome new PM
The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association has welcomed the appointment of Malcolm Turnbull as Prime Minister of Australia.
“As the State’s peak agricultural body, we look forward to working closely with Prime Minister Turnbull and the Coalition team to further the interests of the Tasmanian farming community,’’ TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said.
“Prime Minister Turnbull has an extensive business background, which we believe will assist in his understanding of the challenges that face the Tasmanian agricultural sector, and the economy more broadly.
“We would also like to take the opportunity to thank outgoing Prime Minister Tony Abbott for being an outstanding supporter of Tasmanian agriculture, and the State.”
