Moonah Arts Centre: Friday Nights @ MAC

Presents

Modern Operative

Friday Nights @MAC is the Moonah Arts Centre new and refreshed version of our popular Friday night concert series.

Staged on the first and last Friday of the month, our 2015 series will run from Friday the 31st of July to Friday the 4th of December with some great live music in a relaxed and social atmosphere in our award winning Arts Centre in downtown Moonah.

Our next Friday Night@MAC gig is:

Modern Operative

Established In 2006, led by local jazz man Kelly Ottaway, this is one of Tasmania’s foremost little- big bands. This group of musicians are driven by the same desire as Ottaway to play some kickin’ arrangements, and celebrate the sounds of jazz past and present…and still working on the future! Since it’s humble beginnings, the ‘Operative’ have played at many festivals around Tasmania, namely ‘Clarence Jazz Festival’ as well as the ‘Devonport Jazz Festival’, as well as sojourns to the mainland to play in two ‘Walsh Bay Jazz Festivals’. With a five-strong horn line and tight rhythm section, this unit of musicians provides a large and impressive sound!
