Brooks blasts O’Connor over gambling backflip
In one of the first major policy changes announced by new Green leader Cassy O’Connor, she has thrown her party’s support behind expanding gambling operations in Tasmania.
At first I was gobsmacked, but now I think what we are seeing is a real softening in the Greens’ hard-line stance since the departure of the two former leaders.
This follows on from recent comments from Ms O’Connor where she appears to have changed the party platform and now supports poker machines in Tasmania’s two existing casinos.
I welcome Ms O’Connor’s support for casinos in Tasmania as a legitimate tourism and hospitality attraction.
