Neighbourhood Watch Tasmania has responded positively to the increasing crime rate being experienced by businesses in the Launceston area.

State Chairman, Jan Dunsby, advises that a Business Crime Forum for all business owners will be held on Wednesday 22 July, 6.00pm for 6.30pm at Hotel Grand Chancellor, 29 Cameron Street, Launceston.

“We have partnered with Tasmania Police to present this forum and to arm business owners with information they can utilise to protect their businesses and staff.

Commander Brett Smith will address statewide business crime trends and current strategies of Tasmania Police to reduce crime.

Inspector John King will advise of current trends in the Northern District, including, what (money) where (suburbs) when (time of night/day of week trends) how (entry, kind of damage, equipment used) why and who. He will also advise on forensic requirements to help Police in their investigations, as well as provide prevention advice.
