Justice Jessop handed down the Full Court decision, dismissing Save the Tarkine’s appeal against the Riley Creek mine approval.

Save the Tarkine is disappointed by this decision.

“This decision highlights deficits within current national environmental law”, said Save the Tarkine Campaign Coordinator, Scott Jordan.

“That it has been found that a Minister can make a decision on a bilaterally assessed project, without a complete assessment demonstrates a weakness in the legislation”.

Save the Tarkine continues to oppose Venture Mineral’s plans to mine in the Tarkine.
