Today’s “Save the Tarkine” protest isn’t about protecting forests, it’s about promoting Scott Jordan’s Senate campaign, which is clearly faltering.

There hasn’t been a protest against forestry since the passage of legislation to repeal the job-destroying forest deal last year, now all of sudden Mr Jordan cares again – just when campaigning for Christine Milne’s Senate spot is at its height.

Apparently the Greens have a prohibition against campaigning for the Senate through the media – has Mr Jordan broken party rules with this self-serving stunt?

The fact is these forests have been working forests for generations, supporting the livelihoods of hundreds of Tasmanians in the North-West, and nothing has changed in relation to harvesting in the area since the election.
