This week in Parliament we saw the Hodgman Liberal Government getting on with the job with the second reading of the Budget passing through the House of Assembly.
The Budget contains a clear plan to create jobs, invest in frontline services, build on the growing economic momentum and get the budget back in the black with a surplus next year.
We also passed a number of significant new laws, including anti-discrimination amendments and tough new laws to crack down on animal cruelty.
On the other hand, Labor leader Bryan Green had what can only be described as a horror week.
Labor abandoned questions on the budget halfway through Wednesday’s question time, while Mr Green’s budget reply speech was flaccid and flat.
Far from having a plan to get the State’s budget back into surplus, Mr Green’s response would impose a $1 billion deficit on Tasmanians.
Our Budget puts jobs front and centre, Mr Green’s rambling response was about football and electric buses.
No wonder by the end of the week Mr Green’s Labor colleagues were looking for the EXIT.
