An important debate over the Liberal Government’s scrapping of the Reintegration of Ex-Offenders program has been marred by the ejection of Liberal Human Services Minister Jacquie Petrusma.

Ms Petrusma is the first Liberal Minister to be booted from the House of Assembly during this term of government.

Shadow Corrections Minister Madeleine Ogilvie said it rounds out a disappointing parliamentary performance from the Human Services Minister.

“This morning in Question Time the Minister was caught out twice over statements regarding the REO program,” Ms Ogilvie said.

“To then end the afternoon by being booted from the House really caps an embarrassing day for the Minister.

“Being the first Liberal Minister booted from Parliament by Speaker Elise Archer is an dubious honour for Jacquie Petrusma to earn.”
