Labor Leader Bryan Green today welcomed continued funding to Sense-T to develop new research projects in Tasmania.
“Sense-T is an initiative developed under Labor with funds allocated from the Tasmanian Forest Agreement,” Mr Green said.
“The irony of the Federal and State Liberal governments now getting behind Sense-T and lauding the benefits to industry across the State will not be lost on many Tasmanians.
“It is a great initiative and shows the importance of collaboration between the University of Tasmania and industry together with research partners like the CSIRO.
“The new projects announced today will build on Labor’s work particularly in rolling out major irrigation schemes and the expansion of Tasmania’s salmon industry.
“Sense T can now broaden its reach to industry and benefit other areas like health and tourism.”
