While job losses from Forestry Tasmania are highly regrettable, we make absolutely no apologies for our plan to make Forestry Tasmania stand on its own two feet.
The only alternative, supported by Labor and the unions, is to continue pumping more than $30 million per year into Forestry Tasmania, at the expense of health and education funding.
The process for managing the restructure is a matter for Forestry Tasmania, and I don’t intend to interfere.
