The Hodgman Liberal Government supports community groups and respects the valuable contribution they make to our state.
Tasmanian based community groups are now able to apply for the use of recreation equipment previously used in the Wilderness Program.
Equipment including kayaks, sleeping bags and tents, which if new would have the retail value of $140,000, will be available to groups that demonstrate they can use them for the benefit of the community.
Public notices have appeared in Tasmania’s three daily newspapers seeking expressions of interest for the equipment.
Groups wishing to obtain the equipment will need to demonstrate it will be used for the benefit of the community and in return it will be granted to them free of charge.
Expressions of interest will be open until June 2.
Community groups wishing to inspect the equipment or obtain information should contact Nathan Haas at [email protected] or 03 6270 5622
