Tasmania is heading in the right direction under the Hodgman Liberal Government with the unemployment queue shrinking, retail spending at record highs and business confidence the best in the nation.

We need to build on that momentum to grow the economy and create jobs and we are working with business and industry to do just that.

With all the fantastic work being done by our business community, it’s important to give credit where credit is due, and I would urge all local exporters to enter the 2015 Tasmanian Export Awards.

The awards recognise excellence in exporting by Tasmanian enterprises and are acknowledged as one of Tasmania’s prestigious industry awards.

Tasmanian exporters make an important contribution to the local economy through job creation which increases prosperity in the community.

The Tasmanian Export Awards program plays a key role in the development and enhancement of export culture in Tasmania.

Exporters can enter in a number of categories and the overall winner will be awarded the Minister’s 2015 Exporter of the Year Award.

Tasmanian winners will progress as national finalists in the Australian Export Awards in November, competing against their peers across the country, with winners receiving national recognition for their international success.

Supporting and recognising our exporters is part of the Hodgman Liberal Government’s plan to drive job creating investment and development that will make the economy stronger.

The awards will be held on October 2nd, with applications now open until August 20th 2015.
