TasWater is warning customers to be wary of accepting services from telephone callers claiming to represent the corporation.

CEO, Michael Brewster, says some customers have reported receiving calls from a company asking questions about water quality and offering to fit a water filter system.

“While companies have every right to try to sell their water-related products, we are concerned some may be misleading home owners into believing they are from TasWater.”

“While TasWater may need to call customers on occasion, at no time would we promote the sale or installation of a commercial water-related product,” Mr Brewster said.

“I urge customers to take steps to verify the identity of any callers claiming to represent TasWater and this can be done by contacting our Customer Service Centre on 13 6992.
