Labor Leader Bryan Green said Deputy Premier Jeremy Rockliff had sent the wrong message to the people of Braddon by failing to address job losses at Caterpillar in State Parliament.
“I raised the 280 job losses at Caterpillar to allow for a proper debate on the issue but Mr Rockliff didn’t even bother to get to his feet,” Mr Green said.
“We have had no update from the Government on the situation at Caterpillar since parliament resumed.
“It’s clearly not a priority for the Liberals who seem to only want to talk about good news.
“This morning in Question Time we asked what the Coordinator General is doing when it comes to meeting with Caterpillar’s senior management in the United States.
“The State Growth Minister didn’t even mention Caterpillar in his angry response.
“The Government has clearly given up on these jobs.
“This sends a shocking message to the people of the North West Coast who are grappling with what a blow of this nature will mean for the broader community.”
