Labor’s Plan for FT – more taxpayer funding

Labor Leader Bryan Green confirmed in Question Time today the only plan Labor has for Forestry Tasmania is to continue pumping money into it.

Mr Green must explain to Tasmanians exactly where this funding will come from – what will he cut to fund it? Health? Education? Police?

Over the last two years of the Labor-Green Government, nearly $100 million was diverted from health, education and police to support Forestry Tasmania and if Labor had their way, nothing, it seems, would change.

The Hodgman Liberal Government has a Plan to put Forestry Tasmania onto a long-term sustainable pathway and as we have repeatedly said, not one more red cent from the Consolidated Fund will go towards Forestry Tasmania’s commercial operations.

The full detail of this Plan will be announced in the Ministerial Statement later today.
Paul Harriss, Minister for Resources
