The number of permanent Ministerial drivers has doubled, with some Liberal Ministers rewarded while others miss out.

Shadow Treasurer, Scott Bacon, said the Government made a big song and dance about cutting the number of permanent ministerial vehicles to four, and increasing reliance on taxis and pool arrangements.

“Now after just 12 months in office the number of permanent vehicles has doubled to eight,” Mr Bacon said.

“Not surprisingly, Will Hodgman was lost for words when questioned about the move in Parliament.

“Mr Hodgman could not explain why the decision was made to give Ministers Rockliff, Ferguson, Petrusma and Gutwein Ministerial drivers.

“Ministers HIdding, Groom and Harriss missed out.

“Is this Mr Hodgman’s way of telling Tasmanians who is actually working and who isn’t ?”
