Labor Leader Bryan Green today accused Premier Will Hodgman of washing his hands of the process to appoint a $186,000 a-year position in the public service without interviewing any other applicants for the job.
“Only one of 12 applicants for the senior role in the Department of Premier and Cabinet was interviewed for the job raising serious questions over the process,” Mr Green said.
“The Government took the trouble to advertise the position yet ignored all the other applicants.
“How can Tasmanians have any confidence that the Government is not just handing out jobs for the boys?
“If the other applicants were so unsuitable for the job, will the Premier now release their qualifications?
“Will Hodgman did not deny that he just went through the motions and that he had already made up his mind on the appointment.
